Office Killer
Directed by Cindy Sherman
Dorine is a quiet and hardworking social outcast who’s endured years of abuse as the office doormat. One day, this mild-mannered paper pusher accidentally electrocutes a particularly obnoxious coworker…and in the process completely short-circuits her already unstable sanity! From that moment on, Dorine comes to believe that any office mate can be her best friend - once they’re dead! An outrageous display of the creepier side of office politics!
A quiet office worker flips in Cindy Sherman's wild work horror.
Cast: Molly Ringwald, Carol Kane, Jeanne Tripplehorn

Great effort for the only foray into film by artist/photographer Cindy Sherman, whose artist/photographer eye is impeccable. The office politics of downsizing and even women in the workplace are excellent and the way the flashbacks and basement set pieces fill in the gaps of Dorine's seemingly elusive motivations is exquisite. Apparently Dorine is sort of a stand-in for Sherman because they have a "shared interest in arranging bodies" like a "puppeteer" in their own sort of "dioramas." Wow. Also Carol Kane, of course, is haunting and mesmerizing and I love how (sort of like Julia in Hellraiser) she becomes more "beautified" the more she kills to the point where the final shot shows her eyebrows finally done right. Great stuff!
Dark, sleazy, and fun! Carol Kane is awesome!
Four skulls. LOL, a classic.
I'm not rating this because I don't think it's bad it just didn't interest me. This is very much a 90s independent, shot on 16 mm type of film similar to movies like Clerks, Sticky Fingers of Time, I Like it Like That, etc. These are the kinds of movies Miramax was built on and if you grew up watching those movies this will likely satiate your nostalgia. It is pretty slow paced and I found it boring. I will say that Carol Kane's Eyebrow makeup is horrible and really distracting. I didn't need to go to makeup school to notice it.
Cindy Sherman!
