This was a heartfelt, vibrant modern retelling of Frankenstein set in drug-wracked Black America. Sharp writing paired with a stellar lead to make a solid present-day monster movie in the classic vein. There is just enough gore to make an impact but the 'monster' himself is a little low on reveal for most audiences.
A wonderful modern adaption of Frankenstein. Well done with a good ending.
