Agree with LordWeasel's excellent review and the relationship between cop/serial killer is exploited here, prior to but very like the TV show Hannibal (the relationship between Will and Hannibal, whereas in SotL, the power dynamic is different)
The second cop in the beginning!!!!!!! Totally Daryl from "THE WALKING DEAD"?!?!?!!?! A w e s o m e.
LORDWEASEL. Love your review
EXCELLENT....so folks don't like to watch films that have subtitles I have said this and I will say it again you could be missing out on the most heartwarming meaningful films ever made just due to that. Maybe it was billed as horror but it is more than just a horror film. EXCELLENT well done !
A rural policeman becomes enmeshed in the interrogation of a vile serial killer who may or may not be responsible for a young girl's death in the area. Playing on some elements of SILENCE OF THE LAMBS, the film reads like an extended German version of a "Criminal Minds" episode. As the killer gets into the policeman's psyche and craftily manipulates his fragile family relationships, evidence points to someone closer to the officer--someone he may have to put down on his own. Comparisons also abound to David Fincher's SE7EN and understandably so. This is a raw look into the deviancy of a serial killer's mind.
