Halloween

Halloween

Directed by John Carpenter

The year is 1963, the night: Halloween. Police are called to 43 Lampkin Ln. only to discover that 15 year old Judith Myers has been stabbed to death, by her 6 year-old brother, Michael. After being institutionalized for 15 years, Myers breaks out on the night before Halloween. No one knows, nor wants to find out, what will happen on October 31st 1978 besides Myers' psychiatrist, Dr. Loomis. He knows Michael is coming back to Haddonfield, but by the time the town realizes it, it'll be too late for many people.

An escaped killer returns home in John Carpenter's classic.

Cast: Donald Pleasence, Jamie Lee Curtis, P.J. Soles

The most popular slasher movie ever and still continues to be (after several sequels and a couple of retcons later)! While my personal favorite Carpenter movie is still "The Thing", this is still a fun watch to see how the franchise began.

What some of these people say about the story being lazy is kinda true. If this movie came out in 2009, it would be a three star miss. What I say to those people is that this was the first movie to do these things. This movie solidified what a slasher was and made those plot points that we now call lazy. We call them lazy because they took it from Halloween amand those movies drove the formula into the ground. This was not to blame.

So many things about this movie are the best parts from Jamie Lee Curtis to the music to the creepy pov and simple terror.
