pretty goofy. wouldn't watch outside of the quality of the first one. coat tail sequel
Can't give it a 5 because it's definitely not the same level a 1 & 2. I probably like it more than I should because I'm such a huge Hellraiser fan. Part 4 is nice because of the different eras of stories and you get some of the origin of the box. The rest after that can suck it!
Another step down, but still with a few interesting things see.
Pure 90s camp in the best way! Overemphasized dialogue (“I just stepped into madness for you!”), over the top acting, sex and blood for the sake of sex and blood - it’s all here. After part two, I’d say this is the best sequel this franchise pumped out. Yes, the editing is choppy. Yes, the characters are cardboard cutouts (naive news reporter who’s in need of a story, abused girlfriend, scumbag and sex obsessed boyfriend). And, yes, the events that happen are all but nonsensical, but there is a decent movie within it all that makes this a worthwhile watch.
Not as good as I remember. This is what happens when a studio options more films than the original creator is willing to produce, or when a content creator sells his/her IP. We get Joe McCorporate who comes in and says "gimme pinhead and some gore, we'll make a million" never giving a thought to whether or not the plot makes any sense whatsoever, or even exists. Throw in some pretty girls, some eighties metal, boom. Shit show.
