Horror of Frankenstein
Directed by Jimmy Sangster
Machiavellian teen-genius Victor Frankenstein creates a monster out of dead bodies in the penultimate film in one of Hammer’s most popular horror series. Hammer star Ralph Bates plays the doctor as a conniving, lecherous sociopath who’ll stop at nothing to prove he can create life. But naturally the monster he creates goes on a rampage, putting all who cross its path in grave danger. Both a remake and semi-parody of the original CURSE OF FRANKENSTEIN, HORROR features David Prowse, aka Darth Vader in the first STAR WARS, playing the doctor’s deadly creation.

One of my favorite Hammer Frankenstein films. The monster looks awesome.
It kept me entertained. Love the boots popping up out of the tank at the end.
No Cushing. No Deal. This was suppose to be a "reboot" along with Scars of Dracula ( that one featured Lee though). It's still a serviceable Hammer Horror film, but overall kind of a let down.
Ralph Bates makes for an amusing misanthrope, but this film never really delivers on the lurid pleasures of other Hammer titles at the time, feeling like it's pulling its punches with both the violence and the sex. I do like the ending in all its droll irony, even if it ultimately did hint at a new direction for the franchise that was ultimately not taken.
