In the Night
Directed by Joshua Erkman
A man’s first night transporting dead bodies turns out to be more than he bargained for in this creepy short from 2016 Shudder Labs fellow Joshua Erkman. On his first night working for a mortuary, a nervous A.P. (Kier O’Donnell, FX’s “Fargo”) asks his more experienced partner Ron (Rob Zabrecky, LOST RIVER) to tell him his wildest on-the-job story. So Ron spins a twisted tale, but A.P. can’t believe it’s true. When Ron takes a break, A.P. is alone with his fears and soon something in the back of the van begins making noises. Something that shouldn’t be there...

I really liked this short. It was creepy and a little scary and left a bit to the imagination. It was a nice tease
This is a really cool short that I'd love to see expanded on. The first half of this is pretty dialogue heavy which I enjoy, very atmospheric. Was under the impression we might get to see the old woman's third life but it didn't happen, it seemed a bit like they were setting the audience up for that and then it didn't happen. Definitely captures those first day on the job jitters though.
This had the potential do be something wonderfully spooky but was a rather disappointing ending. Re do.
Well, shoot, that was a bummer. Beautiful premise starting to build up to something that might be a real heart thumper. Then all of a sudden...nothing. I feel thoroughly cheated. Time wasted.
