It was all going okay, some genuinely creepy moments, a nice slow burn and then came the Author character and then the last bit.. God, it was so terrible, I STOPPED watching it! You saw that right, I stopped watching at the end bit, I just couldn't do it. An hour wasted on what could have been decent and then destroyed by a terrible actor and laser eyes. Honestly, don't waste your time like I did.
legitimately terrible. embarrassed i finished it.
Hmmm. Not terrible, but probably overly long for what you get. Some legit spooky moments. Gets a bit talkie and repetitively so in parts.
If you're a fan of The Conjuring or Halloween, skip it. If you like found footage, this one will grab you and take hold. A slow-burn with plenty of layers and texture, combined with growing suspense, and an ending that will stick in your head like bubblegum in your hair- one of the best post-covid efforts I've seen.
I mean...its okay, nothing totally makes sense but it was a good film for background noise.
