I agree with the other comment - not a horror. more a meditation on grief. Started out seeming like it might be a twisted cat and mouse thriller but that quickly disappeared and it seemed to lose its way. The ending was nice but had nothing to do with the rest of the film really (unless yoy want to really labour at joining up the themes then it losely relates). Not a bad film, despite not always making sense and occasionally drifting into art school collages. Don't know why its on Shudder but I enjoyed it for the moat part anyway.

Bit baffled that this was a movie on Shudder honestly. I get (and champion the fact) that the horror genre can be stretched and subverted, but this simply wasn't a horror movie. As far as I could tell, it wasn't trying to be. It's a story of two very depressed people being believably cruel to each other, but not to any degree that even edges towards the horror genre. It had a couple bits of psychedelic imagery but man, I dunno. Such a weird movie to have on Shudder. Would I have enjoyed it more if I'd known what it was and I hadn't been expecting a horror movie as you would from Shudder? Probably not. It was very depressing and melodramatic without a strong enough story to back it up. I don't think spending 3/4 of the movie wondering how it was gonna turn into a horror movie helped, but as a drama it dragged too, so I think it just wasn't for me overall. I really hope Shudder doesn't start going down the route of calling human dramas horror movies 'because the human condition can be horrifying' or something though.
