Good God almighty! Wow. Just wow.. haha. Nervous laugh... .... .... wow..
like a filmed stage play. and brutal.
So, not at all what I expected. This movie was like a fever dream and I'm glad I stuck with it till the end, because it did pay off. I agree the singing was jarring, but in this flick, it works. It contributes to the whole equilibrium-unbalancing feeling it gives you. (just adjust the volume a little, lol) I abs LOVE how their clothing changes colors depending on where they are in the restaurant! At first, I couldn't place Michael Gambon for the life of me, the voice was very familiar, but he looks so different, so much younger! Georgina was a Saint.. I would've stuck a knife in Spica's eye if I had to listen to him bang on endlessly. Then you learn how he tortured her, so yea, he's a nightmare. Wish I could go to the book depository. The scene where Georgina laid next to Michael was very sad & reminded me of Romeo & Juliet a little. Love how she got Spica in the end. Rated 5 skulls for the pure eye candy this flick contains. So many details I'm sure I missed and worthy of a rewatch. Not your typical horror movie, but many horrific elements. So glad I subbed to Shudder. This channel is amazing!
A beautiful, cinematic play/opera revenge tale come to life. Everything is perfectly mixed, alive and vibrant to the heart and bone of this masterpiece. If anyone doesn't like this film for what it is then they have no class at all and I suggest that they dive head first into an oven and don't come out until they're well-done.
