Directed by Adam Brooks, Matthew Kennedy
A homage and parody of the Italian giallo from Canadian production company Astron-6, THE EDITOR tells the story of a talented film editor whose career is ruined after a tragic accident disfigures his hand. Unable to find work at respectable studios, Rey, resigns himself to a quiet life working on low grade B movies, but when actors at the studio turn up dead, he finds himself the number one suspect. Packed full of homages, astute references and cameos, THE EDITOR is a humorous and loving look at the Italian subgenre.
A once-prolific film editor finds himself the prime suspect in a series of murders haunting a seedy 1970s film studio in this absurdist throwback to the Italian Giallo.
Cast: Paz de la Huerta, Adam Brooks, Laurence R. Harvey, Udo Kier
This is a really fun one. It's a true homage to the Giallo genre. If I didn't know any better I would've thought it actually was an authentic italian thriller from the 1970's.
A bad movie that knows its bad and is trying to give a nod to bad movies that think they're good... entertainment at its finest lol
A parody of Giallo cinema with memorable gore effects, campy performances, and spot-on humour. It makes fun of those classic Argento films while simultaneously reminding us why we love them.
Not a great Giallo parody. This is a streaming pile of shit. I understand Giallo. The Argento, Fulci, Cronenberg, Goblin references. But Astron 6 has no talent, I was so disappointed watching this. This film seems like it was directed by 6 different schmarmy clowns who are trying to pull something over on you. Please don't fall for this hipster garbage. A waste of time.
Great Giallo parody, extremely funny and top notch effects. Amazed at how well directed and acted this movie was on such a low budget.
