Had never heard about it until recently. Very interesting and well shot film.
Catholic girl horror realness! ALL those first communion vibes!
This is a true classic. Hitchcockian tension and chills, and absolutely dripping in Catholic angst. It's exhausting to watch. The fact the actress playing a 12 year old was nearly 20 when she made this lends her performance a truly other-worldly and weird vibe that really disturbs. Horrible and shocking set-pieces add to the chills, although you need the uncut version to enjoy to the full. The final freeze-frame lives long in the mind. A minor genre masterpiece.
The landlord is the best thing in here. Yet the stain on his trousers has left an indelible stain on my memory.
