Better Watch Out

Directed by Chris Peckover

This holiday season, you may be home, but you’re not alone... In this fresh and gleefully twisted spin on home-invasion horror, babysitter Ashley (Olivia DeJonge) must defend her young charges (Levi Miller, Ed Oxenbould) when intruders break into the house one snowy night – or so she thinks. A SHUDDER EXCLUSIVE.

The film has potential. The acting is mostly fine except for the two teenage boys who ranger from bad to meh. The movie only starts to get interesting at the plot twist. The writing is also ranges from bad to meh. Visually the movie is very well done. 4/10

I think this movie will become a new holiday family tradition here. Maybe a double feature with Black Christmas. And a flask of rye to make up for the worst holiday of the year. Hoho Mofos!

The two kids acting was quite mixed, the lead kid was mostly ok while the kid from "The Village" was awful for most of the film. The other actors did a fine job. The first half hour is quite boring until the twist comes in half way through. The writing is also pretty mixed, some of the lines said and the situations that happen make the characters look idiotic. Visually the movie is well done, and the fake blood looks good. 4/10

The two kid actors were quite mixed. The lead kid was ok most of the time, while the kid from “The Visit” was awful for most of the film. The other actors did a fine job. The story gets better after the twist happens. The writing is also pretty mixed, some of the dialogue and situations are really bad. Although I think the ending is really well done. Visually the movie is well done. 4/10
