Being,to the best of my recollection, the first Malay horror film I've seen, I wasn't sure what to expect, but went in with an open mind & hopeful expectations,& was pleasantly (?!) rewarded ! No problems with the acting, pacing, directing etc.,but what really kept my interest was nice cinematography & design, suitably gnarly effects, & ultimately distasteful subject matter. Will defo order from the Malaysian menu again😋
Very beautiful movie <3
Wondered if there was a horror tale with a flower in it. This one does. Enjoyed it through subtext and adjusted perspective.
This was a cool little surprise to run into on Shudder TV! I probably wouldn't have watched it otherwise, but came into it about 10 minutes in and was immediately curious. It absolutely paid off. An intricate, fascinating story steeped in mythology and religion, paid off in piles of family secrets.
Loved it. Very subtle until the explosive ending that spells it all out, but you can pick up on it all the way throughout. You kind of want it to be a risqué Stranger Things and then it just goes its own way to great success.
