Devil's Pass

Directed by Renny Harlin

Renny Harlin (DIE HARD 2, CLIFFHANGER) brings one of the greatest unsolved mysteries of the 20th century to the screen -- the controversial Dyatlov Pass Incident. In February of 1959, nine Russian hikers ventured into a remote area of the Ural Mountains in Russia. Two weeks later, all nine were found dead. Now, five ambitious American college students are issued a grant to return to the site of the original events in the belief that they can uncover and document the truth of what happened. But what they find is more shocking than anything they could have imagined. The forces behind the Dyatlov Pass Incident have been waiting for them.

5 young adventurers retrace the steps of a doomed group of hikers in pursuit of a legendary paranormal mystery.

Cast: Gemma Atkinson, Holly Goss, Luke Albright

the fact that this movie doesn't have the english version makes this film a huge waste!

No. Slow movie where nothing happens until the last 20 ish minutes and that’s so left field it’s almost funny.

This is a guilty pleasure found footage horror favorite of mine. The FX have aged terribly and it gets a little ridiculous but I like that it starts with a real mystery and takes it to the most extreme option. I think it still could have been satisfying if it stayed a survival horror situation, but it's impossible not to talk about the conspiracy theories when bringing up the Dyatlov incident anymore. Not sure why Shudder says this is in Russian, it's in English.
