Sometimes I bank on the ratings here before I watch any films and I put this one aside for a while (because much like yelp, anything 3 stars and below bound to disappoint, not always true) but it is definitely underrated. Gore it is indeed but is not the only element that drives the film; it's definitely a tool in the horror genre and in this case encompasses the desperation our protagonist's experiences. Aside form the gore, the greater message within the film speaks to the ongoing social struggle and crisis that is illegal border crossing by aid of coyote. The fear, horror and desperation of the unknown is expressed within the first minute and mirrors what many unfortunately have experienced in their attempt to look for better opportunities: separation of loved ones, lost to the earth, death or taken advantage of by sick criminal individuals. Brings attention in a gory, cynical and heartbreaking manner to a real problem. The luchador is a classic element to connect with all. Has more of a The Devils Rejects feel to me and definitely not a snuff film. Well done for 15 minutes. Surprised I had this much to say about it. Would love to see more work by this production company or extend this one out.
this is an irrelevant film no true plot it’s in socialized violence! murder for the sake of murder no meaning no true story it’s just a snuff film all I can say is it shows what happens to a lot of people that pay to cross us our border
I love this. I need more!!
