They are pawns in a game being played by forces beyond their understanding.

weird movie.
Doesn't live up to the first film, but has some unique ideas/themes and is still undoubtedly well-made. An interesting watch, more so if taken on it's own merits and less as a sequel. While I prefer the first film overall, admittedly this is more of and actual "movie". As in it takes it's characters and motivations more seriously, the cinematography is somehow even better, and some of the practical effects are sickening. In a good way, of course. It all depends on what you want out of the experience. The first film is like an expert-level popcorn flick. This one has a little more going on upstairs. Both good depending on mood/expectations, but doing different things.
Having just watched the first film for the first time and being aware of these films for many years, but now just getting around to them, this 2nd one seems to take much longer to get anywhere and when it does, it ends up being rather nonsensical. It does get some gore in, but nothing quite like a couple of the early sequences of part 1 in terms of shock, and there is a lot of screeching in the finale between the main character and the older woman attacking her. I had a hard time getting into this one. I would definitely revisit the first at some point, but the 2nd is a hard pass from me.
I could not follow the story this time but the action part were fantastic in the best way
Not as good as the first but still an enjoyable crazy movie.
