There is nothing like the real thing. This ain't it. Not terrible but not great. Evil Dead Rise is much better. . . . .

Evil Dead grabs you by the balls, cranks the tension to 11 and stays there for 90 until it reaches one of the most epic horror conclusions of all time. More akin to the original movie than any of the sequels, saying this Fede Alvarez movie has absolutely zero chill is like saying there’s no icewater in hell. A weaponized assault on the senses and maybe the greatest horror remake of all time.
