Decent modern spin on Irish Folklore and our (not so Disney) fairy folk. Will not suit those with short attention spans or in need of regular jump scares. The story leans into the auld 'Are they real, or is it just a mental breakdown? A trope all to common in a lot of modern supernatural/pyschological horror movies. 4 *'s due to its non-committal, unanswered open ending
Wanted so much to like this because it’s Irish and normally don’t mind a slow build up, but my god, I spent so much of the film bored out of my mind. Not sure how I made it to the end.
Loved it, impressive folk horror about faeries, trauma, and mental health
this was another of an extreme rare few movies rhat have accurately depicted what real, successful contact with the occult/magic/magical operations- in a very compelling- but, disturbing, way. The lead actress is excellent.
One of the best folk horror movies out there
