This was awesome! Loved every minute of it. The ending with the CGI was a bit much, but I understand why they let us get a glimpse of the very thing we (and our main character) had been trying to get a peek at the whole movie. Also points for an Aussie actor!
awesome
such a refreshing film. I find that most horror movies are very similar to eachother and follow the same stories and plot thats weve all seen before. this movie is a new idea that ive never seen explored. it isnt a perfect 5 skulls as I feel they could have done a little more with the plot. it was very simple but interesting and different. would recommend!
absurd and stupid in the worst way. definitely not for me
There are very few films that leave me with a 10,000 yard stare of joy afterwards, but this did it. This is Lovecraftian horror at its finest. Next to the recent Color Out of Space, this sits squarely. Pure and simple: unsettling, well acted, great pacing/sound and even surprising at times. Minor Spoiler: If you've ever been nerdy enough to know the joy of the Cthulhu RPG -- where most paths lead to one of two outcomes that orbit equally around either death or Barbara-Crampton-screaming-at-the-end-of-From-Beyond style madness--- you're going to dig this and will probably recommend it to new players prior to play. And there is definitely a moment or two that subverted my expectations wonderfully and made me laugh out loud. This film really gets across the concept that maybe, just maybe, you should be grateful that god isn't listening and thank the myriad stars that space is indeed vast and we are lost in the sea of twinkling things. Glorious in our oblivion, one of a million trillion creations forgotten in the sandbox of the cosmos. Oh, and I also learned that when an elder godling tells you not to look at it.... Do. Not. Look. At. It.
