When a locket is removed from a collapsed fire tower in the woods that entombs the rotting corpse of Johnny, a vengeful spirit spurred on by a horrific 60 year old crime, his body is resurrected and becomes hellbent on retrieving it. The undead golem hones in on the group of vacationing teens responsible for the theft and proceeds to methodically slaughter them one by one in his mission to get it back - along with anyone in his way.

Love this classic premise told from another viewpoint. Not for everyone… but me personally, I LIVE!!!
A decent movie. Would’ve EASILY been a better movie with some background music. It’s really hard, trying to follow a horror movie with little dialogue and no music while at the SAME TIME, it being a slow burner. If they do a part 2, I sincerely hope they apply what I wrote. 💯✌🏾
Like what most have said I thoroughly enjoyed the risks taken on story telling and direction. It felt like both a new and old take on the classic slasher movie. There were a couple scenes that felt a little out of place so that is where the fifth skull is not quite earned, however it is a strong four due to how well you get to know the characters in the very few scenes we have with dialogue. Lots of gore, lots of fun.
The gimmick is fun, making the whole stalking victims trope of slashers seem positively mundane. The kills are brutal and shot from a single angle. There's at least 25-30 minutes of the killer shuffling through tall grass. The artistic slant of the slasher genre won't be for everyone, but if you like more experimental horror, you'll probably enjoy it.
