Excellent film through and through! Some people may find the subject matter off-putting, but I think every part of the narrative is meant to express just how depraved and evil the inugami are in the grand scheme of things. People are caught up in things well past their understanding and have to suffer for it. Not scary per se, but phenomenal either way.
This film is gross.
Dude, this film is about a mother and son getting it on, and plenty of it. Gross. I love the Grudge films and watch lots of Asian horror films. However, idk what the infatuation is with Oldboy and other trash like it, but hope I saved someone's time from watching this.
this is a slow burn horror. just to warn folks who dont like that style of horror but otherwise a well shot, well acted creepy and atmospheric horror! the whole family curse angle is very engaging and man did i sympathise with miki ( the woman who makes the paper) she really, i mean really gets dealt a bad hand in life and you will sympathise with her!! plus the other characters are solid and one in particular is a right scumbag. like i said a very solid japanese folk horror film! plus made in 2001! before that sub genre of asian folk horror became popular ( the wailing, the medium). big thumbs up
Possibly the best rural village cursed deities movie i've ever seen. . Disturbing & awesome scenery shots??
