Starts slow and boring. Then it has a bunch of dumb "Manson family" drugs-are-bad-mmkay nonsense. To be fair, I think it is really difficult to portray the Manson family cliche in fiction without the whole thing seeming ridiculous. In a movie I really didn't care for, I think my favorite moment is when Cage decides to taste the goop he finds in a jar in the psycho killer's house, because who hasn't been there, right? I mean who can pass up the chance to taste some mystery goop? I guess I just don't know for sure what this movie was trying to do, but it wasn't for me.
i've tried twice now, but this movie is completely unwatchable.
Fantastic film from a visionary director. Excellent acting, pacing, gore, lighting, editing, music; the works. What more could you ask for?
Enjoyed it very much. Quite trippy.
one of the best horror/revenge movies I've ever seen
