I could subscribe to shudder for a lifetime and if I never watched another movie again this would be worth it. This is LITERALLY what i signed up for. William Lustig brings his weird oedipal pervert sauce to larry cohen's absolute banger of a script to create a somewhat more mainstream thriller than his previous hit "Maniac". Less gore, better pacing, and just filled with beautiful and hilarious larry Cohenisms.
nobody knows maniacs like William Lustig. nobody knows NYC like Larry Cohen. one of the more creative slashers of the 80s.
Like Michael Myers except he’s a cop 11/10
This horror classic about a murderous cop is so ahead of it's time. And the quiet, dreading night time New York City atmosphere fits perfectly. With a cast consisting of genre legends also makes this film worth seeing.
