Directed by Ragnar Bragason
Fueled by a remarkable breakout performance by actress Thora Bjorg Helga, Director Ragnar Bragason's METALHEAD is an intense drama of loss, faith, redemption, Megadeth and Judas Priest. It begins with a farming accident in the 1980s that sends a young girl, Hera, and her parents into a tail-spin of grief over the death of her heavy metal-obsessed older brother. A decade later and Hera is transformed into a sexy, surly headbanger and DIY musician, dressed in black leather and a Slayer t-shirt, clutching her dead brother's electric guitar as she howls anthems of rage to a barn full of cows. Seemingly trapped in a haunted landscape of slaughterhouses and barren winter fields, making all the wrong choices in her life - including coming on to the local priest and sleeping with her platonic best friend - Hera slowly, painfully comes to terms with her family's loss and the sound of her own true voice.

Wow. What a great movie - but iot's not remotely horror. It's a story about the power of grief, metal, family, and acceptance.
Such a good film, more of a drama than a horror after the opening scene but any fan of metal is gonna love this movie. Its nice to see a representation of metalheads that isn't just a cheesy comedy like with "Todd and the Book of Pure Evil" and "Deathgasm"(though i loved both of those too). didn't plan on watching all of "Metalhead" tonight but i couldn't stop watching once i got into it.
Not a horror, but it was much better than I expected
Was expecting the priest to end up a killer, but instead got a mediocre drama. The song at the end was pretty good though- both versions.
I'm sorry but I thought I paid membership for a site DEDICATED TO HORROR MOVIES!!! I have been pleasantly surprised by 2 or 3 films on here that didn't fit horror exactly like a round peg in a round hole, but THIS?!! This was some kind of feel good, Lifetime TV Movie Of The Week or something. Talk about BORING! I kept skipping 3 minutes at a time waiting for the horror.....aaaaaand NOTHING!
