I couldnt even watch the whole thing
In addition to the criticisms listed in other reviews here – the uneven acting and accents; the late-in-coming and underdeveloped supernatural element; anachronistic language and costume elements, etc., the “Jan Hammer Lite” synth score is so out of place it feels like it was repurposed from an 80s Slasher film. A more atmospheric approach with some nod to the sound of the period in which this narrative is supposedly set may have even saved the film from some of its weaker elements.
I’ve tried to watch this movie a few times and give it a chance but could never get into it. Was based on a good idea for mystery or horror but couldn’t deliver and just was boredom.
Being an indigenous revenge flick fave this movie had a huge advantage going in, but the acting was bad, the editing was bad, the script was underwhelming, the direction was non-existent, and it’s the cheapest looking movie I’ve seen on Shudder. It looks like it was shot on an phone in the middle of the day, and never touched in post. Huge disappointment. It’s a 1-skull movie, but I’m giving it 2-skulls because I got to see a Native American slaughter colonizers.
if you gave this more then one skull you are a liar.
