Two Orphan Vampires

Two Orphan Vampires

Directed by Jean Rollin

Two blind orphans become vampires at night and go out seeking blood in cult horror director Jean Rollin’s late-career standout. The nuns at the orphanage are devoted to Louise and Henriette, not realizing that the pair turn pretty terrifying when the sun goes down. When they’re adopted by an eye-doctor, the girls are brought to Paris, where their evil exploits bring them into contact with a vampire queen, a female werewolf, and other strange and creepy characters. Being 17 is tough enough as it is, but what happens when you’re forced to stay that age forever?

A pair of blind vampire sisters prowl the city each night seeking victims.

Cast: Alexandra Pic, Isabelle Teboul, Bernard Charnace

Wonderful , en-suite , poetry in motion, would watch any time anywhere . A piece not to be forgotten. Thanks Shudder.

almost perfect: the choice of film and focusing on character development more than set pieces or craft work was a good idea, but the resulting budget would leave little for sound design. the only thing that's missing is an orchestral soundtrack.

Long and boring, but still appealing in the originality of the story. Needed a few vampire lesbo scenes to spice it up.

It is so very French. lol I thought this was from the 70s until I saw the credit date. I have no idea what the director and writer's intent was. Maybe it was to make a film like those out of the 70s with massive exposition where they're more like visualized plays and poetry rather than a traditional movie. Anyhow, 3 skulls.
