Oddity

Directed by Damian Mc Carthy

When Dani is brutally murdered at the remote country house that she and her husband Ted are renovating, everyone suspects a patient from the local mental health institution, where Ted is a doctor. However, soon after the tragic killing, the suspect is found dead. Despite it lacking the intensity of what I would usually associate with the horror genre, this movie still had a few effective jumpscares, some bloody scenes, and a building sense of suspense in the second half. It wasn't scary as such, but was definitely an enjoyable movie that left you guessing until the reveal in the last quarter. I would leave 3. 5 skulls, but since as I can't, I think 4 is fairer than 3.

It was nice and eerie, I loved the supernatural side of things, great jump scares, but character motivations and story were weak.
