On a certain level this movie shouldn't be recommended to people. It's, in certain ways, mind bogglingly awful. The film seems set in a parallel universe where the least plausible thing is the only one that can happen. It's in a lot of ways a movie about an ostensibly romance-driven kidnapping war over a disabled woman who's kind of a kid in terms of how long she's been conscious in the world. But it's also operatic, in scope, in badness, in how big of a swing it takes. Future people will view this as somewhere between The Room and the way we see movies like Brain Damage from the 80s. If you like wild trash, I absolutely have to recommend it. This movie has more in common with Dragon Ball Z than the Dragon Ball Z Movie does.

Me, again! I finally realized what would have made the movie a perfect five: toward the beginning, when the protagonist and the doctor are looking at the comatose Laura, doc should have said something like: "Yeah, she's a real beauty, isn't she? A real medical anomaly . . . her limbs should be atrophied, her growth stunted, her skin coarsened. Yet here she lies, glowing with the semblance of *perfect* health." [Shakes his head in wonderment] But as it stands, I love this flick and plan to rewatch it.
