This one moved a little slow and I don't think there was enough backstory on the mass murderer, but overall, I really liked this one. Great concept and I love to see a more modern remake of this one.

The concept is almost interesting but is executed so poorly. I want to know more about the dream world Laura goes to. Are we all connected to the same dream world? Why is the hypnotist guy obsessed with her? Why did those furniture store people not call the police when they found a woman covered in blood with no pants passed out in their store? Why was that cop chewing gum in the most disgusting way possible the entire time he was on screen? Why is Danny such a nasty creep? He literally pulled an End of Eva Shinji. Not cool bro. This movie has a really nice musical score though. However, the violinist/cello duet characters are so bad. They contribute nothing to the story, and their screen time is actually offensive (as a musician). Terrible posture, bows are over tightened, articulations don't match the music at all, and the editor's seemed to actually try to put the worst footage they had to the music. The part where the music is a cello solo and they show the violinist sawing away at the E string killed me. Minus all the skulls just for this heinous portrayal of stringed instruments.

A pretty good watch! Acting left a little to be desired, but overall not too bad.

An underrated film in many ways. The movie, as others have said, takes a BIG swing. It has a lot it sets out to do, and wants to incorporate a lot of elements that are ethereal, blending supernatural elements with more pscyhological turns. And while it doesn't succeed in many ways, it does achieve a pretty remarkable level of coherence in others. Considering it was funded by the director and struggled to get distribution, its actually manages to land some solid punches. I can't say in good faith that its great or that everyone will enjoy it, but if you're willing to go along for the ride, its actually a pretty enjoyable film that will likely leave you with some things to think about. Plus, Jeffrey Combs and a young Allison Brie make for an interesting cast.
