People that complain about non-horror movies on here are strange. I have always felt that Sci-Fi and Exploitation films (like this one) really fit in the genre just fine. Just my thought. Loved this, big fan.
yeah, this reallly shouldn't be on shudder but then I'm glad it is because I wouldn't of ever heard of it. Very enjoyable caper flick with heavy nods to ELMORE LEONARD. good stuff.
Viewer discretion and discrepancies is fully advised. This film has a few scenes that might be too much for some to digest. But I thought it was great film. A pretty interesting perspective on the Religion of Santería. The film features the late Great James Gandolfini. It’s a great Thriller with a lot of dark humor. I found it to be a fun joy ride. Not so much of freight film, but definitely a shock fest.
There’s soooo much trauma bonding in the movie, so much abuse, r*pe, that makes it uncomfortable to enjoy and hard to sympathize with the couple at the end. R*pe is definitely romanticized and sexualized in this movie which is gross. I really didn’t like the demonization of West African/Caribbean/Latin American religions in this movie . The movies is callled Perdita but I really don’t feel like I actually know her. Also what the hell happened to those kids before she met that creep?
