Prom Night 2: Hello Mary Lou
Directed by Bruce Pittman
In this supernatural sequel to the slasher classic PROM NIGHT, sexually voracious bad girl Mary Lou Maloney is burned alive after winning prom queen in 1957. 30 years later, her spirit returns to possess Vicki, a cheerleader who’s been chafing under her parents’ repressive rules. Mom and Dad soon get an eyeful after Vicki starts acting out, but Mary Lou is more focused on revenge on the man who caused her early exit from Earth – who’s now the school principal. A fun and frothy mashup of A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET 2 and CARRIE, PROM NIGHT 2 is an essential entry in the ‘80s slasher-sequel canon.
In this supernatural sequel, the spirit of a sexually voracious teen possesses a high schooler.
Cast: Lisa Schrage, Michael Ironside, Wendy Lyon

80's horror is the best 👍
The rare instance of an “in name only” sequel that is vastly superior to the original in every way. The script is an excellent melange of popular horror staples that make a unique whole with actual thematic depth about sexual repression vs extreme sexual liberation juxtaposed with the pressures of oncoming adulthood. But at the end of the day it’s all about boss bitch Mary Lou Maloney she is the queen in every way
Awesome
Crazy that I thought the most iconic film in the franchise (the one with Jamie Lee Curtis) was not that good but this sequel which didn't do well upon its release is easily the better film. The villain, the soundtrack, the kills, the acting, the costume design, the cinematography, and the script is all very well done. It reminded me a lot of the A Nightmare On Elm Street franchise while also reminding me of various other horror and horror comedies of the 80s revolving around teens. This film has that 80s charm that I love so much and so for that, and everything else I mentioned, this movie gets 5 skulls. So yeah. I loved this one.
this movie is perfect cheese, but it has been a major favorite of mine for most of my life, i first saw it when i was a kid and would rent it over and over until the guy offered to sell the copy to me
