An improvement after the disappointing third chapter, but thats about it.
Eh, it's fine, but they were definitely running low on new ideas. The whodunnit aspect was a nice addition, but they made it a bit too obvious (from a storytelling perspective, there was really only one strong suspect). Character motivations were also pretty murky, with folks going from courageously to cowardly with no real justification. If it were a standalone film I might have liked it more, but considering its legacy it's pretty disappointing.
I can see why there are a few bad reviews for this, it just doesn't shed any new light on the main story so far, it's really just another outbreak film. I give it 3 skulls because its been a fun ride so far, and it still holds up to its name, but if your looking for answers about the origins of the demon possessed girl and the strange demon-virus or hove-mind aspects, your not getting any.
Not as much pure terror as 1 but still a very ejoyable watch despite being the 4th in a series.
A lot of monkey business in this film haha
