Santa Sangre
Directed by Alejandro Jodorowsky
An armless woman drives her son to kill in Alejandro Jodorowsky's surreal shocker. As a boy, Fenix saw his father cut off his mother's arms, and the resulting trauma sent him to a mental hospital. When mom visits him years later, he escapes, but soon must satisfy her thirst for santa sangre ("holy blood"). Nearly 20 years after he first freaked out filmgoers with the trippy EL TOPO and THE HOLY MOUNTAIN, Jodorowsky returned with this visually stunning film filled with references to classic horror films like THE UNKNOWN, PSYCHO, and EYES WITHOUT A FACE.

if youre a fan of Jodorowsky's work, you will enjoy this movie for sure. if you aren't familiar with his style, this is a great film to start with!
My favorite Jodorowsky film. If you are looking for straight horror, might not me your cup of tea. This is a surrealist art film maker slow burn kina deal. I love it. Maybe more art then film? But if you are a hockey mask Jason guy you might not get it. If you have not seen Holy mountain, If you don't know who Jodorowsky is you might tread lightly. Perhaps start with the documentary "Jodorowsky's Dune"
Muy bien!
A surreal work of art that lovers of Suspiria and Hausu will enjoy
To me this is one of the greatest films ever made. I've seen it probably 20 times, and I'm always mesmerized. There's nothing like it. Jodorowsky has a vision that is completely his own.
