A genetically-mutated baboon goes bananas in this sickening slice of animal horror. Professor Sorenson (PLANET OF THE APES' Roddy McDowall) is the head of a university med school who injects Shakma, a genetically mutated baboon with a drug meant to reduce its rage. Unfortunately it does the opposite, and later, while Sorenson's students are playing a live-action role playing game in the building, the ape goes bananas and starts killing people. Soon, the students have to play a new game called "Run away from Shakma." You won't soon forget this murderous monkey.

First time watching this. I don't know how I missed this when I was a kid. It's hilarious! The effects are pretty good (before CGI). I was gut busting laughing more than being scared. The acting is OK, but the dialog is so weird. Match that up with the weird sets and the weird scenes and you have a classic because it somehow has some kind of charm to it. My favorite character is Shakma, hands down. Man, that dude went nuts on those doors!! I will watch it again!
ok i actually was gonna give it 5 skulls the first 4 skulls was going to be becaause of the scaryness but then 1 more skull for the cute monkey. but then i decide this move decided 3 skulls because although the monkey was cuyte it was killed which i dont think was justice and it should have gotten it why didnt they save the monkey why? the monkey didnt do anything wrong to anything it was kind and it did just. this move is 3 skulls.
I've seen this type of movie and story done much better and in different settings.
This was really dumb.
weak plot and characters. it had very few good moments
