Silent Hill

Directed by Christophe Gans

Unable to accept the diagnosis that her daughter should be permanently institutionalized for psychiatric care, Rose flees with her child to the deserted town of Silent Hill in search for answers. It's soon clear this place is unlike anywhere she's ever been. It's smothered in fog, inhabited by strange beings and periodically overcome by a living "Darkness" that literally transforms everything it touches. Rose begins to learn the history of the eerie town and realizes that her daughter is just a pawn in a larger, terrifying game.

Love the sound mix, for dialogue and even an actor’s breathing. Evokes the dream nightmare logic of the games

Feel like this movie has aged great. Not sure why I wasn't a fan when it first came out, but over time it's really grown on me. Whether it's my own tastes evolving or just that nostalgia of the 2000s coming into play, I really like the slow burn horror-mystery that is evocative of the Silent Hill games. Couple this with the J-Horror elements and genuinely unsettling visuals and I really had fun watching this on a Saturday night.

Love this movie ! Girl power all around, beautiful badass women killing each other and everything around them. Pyramid Head is my boyfriend.

One of my favorite movies ever. I loved the game growing up and although this movie isn’t identical to the gameplay, I feel the movie truly does the game justice. The behind the scenes of this movie, and the WHY this movie was made, also makes the film itself better (at least to me <3).
