Slime City

Slime City

Directed by Gregory Lamberson

A man turns into a slimy monster after his neighbors serve him a strange potion and some creepy-looking rice pudding. But after slaying a homeless man, Alex’s Nickelodeon-friendly appearance vanishes. Alex soon realizes that the only way to retain his human form is to kill, which causes problems for his devoted girlfriend, Lori. What’s the secret of the ooze Alex is being fed? And what cultish conspiracy is at work in his building? Greg Lamberson’s love letter to horror-comedy favorites like EVIL DEAD and BASKET CASE is a must for fans of low-budget 80s horror.

Final scene in the Apartment is great insanity. The rest of the movie is slow, an confusing. Drinking a potion turns the protagonist into a slime vampire or some horseshit. Speaking of the protagonist, he is distractingly gay. Nothing inherently wrong with that, but creates cognitive dissonance when the character repeatedly pressures his girlfriend into boning. I'm usually a sucker for shoestring 80's horror. Couldn't get past how uninspired and boring this was.

I enjoyed Slime City, definitely a "so bad it's good" film if you're into that.

TERRIBLE 👎 acting, HORRIBLE score and the overall SOUND made my ears hurt. Every word was muffled and hard to hear unless I turned up my TV volume to high. I can’t say anything about the story because I didn’t hang around long enough to even deal with the plot. 👎👎👎👎👎

Drags at times, but there's some amusingly bad performances (that poet guy kills me) and a ridiculous erotic dance to keep things interesting. Awesome make-up design and the gory finale is pretty impressive for a low-budget movie.
