After a slightly clunky start this becomes a delightfully funny deconstruction of the slasher genre and the previous SPM films while also being a strong film that stands alone. The final act goes to some unexpected places - it's worth sticking through it until the film reveals its true game.
AVOID - terrible reimagining of the 1982 classic. Onpar with the 2nd Black Christmas remake.
It's a fun enough little time-waster. I wanted to completely hate it because I like the original movie, but for some reason I just didn't.
This reimagining of the 1982 film is not half-bad. Slated as a 'comedy-horror' on some review sites, it certainly is not a comedy. Some very creative deaths as you could imagine with the primary tool of murder being a very big drill. The young cast is fairly likeable, especially the girls who are obviously in the thick of the mayhem. Good film for a quick and silly watch with some ridiculous deaths.
