meh, more comedic horror than horror for me. every time the killer ran, it made me giggle
As a fan of the original trilogy, I had my trepidations about the quality of this remake, especially knowing it was a SyFy original, but I was pleasantly surprised. I appreciate the Evil Dead II-style remake/sequel combination, and without giving anything away, I enjoyed the plot twists for the most part, but I thought the last third of the movie really lost focus and began to drag quite a bit. The Russ Thorn driller killer did a great job (in my opinion), and I loved the references of the original trilogy peppered throughout the movie. I would definitely watch this again. It fits in nicely with the series (at least a lot more than anything Jim Wynorski ever attempted to squeeze out of the franchise with Sorority House Massacre 2 and 3, and Cheerleader Massacre). 3 and 1/2 skulls out of 5.
