Finding herself the victim of a violent monster attack, Jane launches a vigilante campaign to hunt the beast that tried to kill her. the audio balancing in this movie is just atrocious. I couldn't hear anything, on my speakers. it isn't very good otherwise

I give this film four stars (err...I mean SKULLS) and to be honest, I really don't understand all the negative reviews. This is a horror movie with a very relevant feminist message. The fact that its title also happens to be the same as a well known worldwide event that celebrates female empowerment is not only no coincidence, its shows a great fusion of horror and social / political (sociopolitical?) commentary. What happens to Jane and how she tries fights back in spite of people not believing her or taking her seriously. The absurdity and destructiveness of victim blaming and slut-shaming couldn't be more clear. OK I previously said I didn't understand the negative reviews. Now that I think of it...maybe I do. Some people don't like the overall message of the movie. For whatever reason, I can only guess.

Good acting, I like the premise. Now, where do I find the underground network of monster hunters? Yep, that is my Horror (IRL) fantasy. As Emily Brown says: "Fuck those assholes."

I’d like to take back the 90 minutes wasted on this movie. It’s basically a Law & Order: SVU episode with worse writing, worse acting, and a bad CGI smoke monster.
