Fabulous movie with equally great acting. Bravo. Very creepy.
I guess the them here is daughter and son team fight the devil of depression and loneliness, as well as you don't choose evil, evil chooses you. Except that some of the plot didn't make sense or fit these themes, especially the ending. Worth watching once. Slow moving, especially the beginning.
Really enjoyed The Dark and the Wicked. It had this creeping sense of dread that ran throughout the film. Admittedly possession and demon films are a dime a dozen, but this film was so ominous and bleak and there were moments that were genuinely haunting. I don't want to spoil anything but this is definitely a must watch for fans of possession films. The atmosphere of this film is both isolating and claustrophobic all at once.
Really strong beginning and middle, great performances, ending felt a bit rushed.
