it had the potential to be a great movie (gore, creepyness, nudity) but there's something missing. I can't put my finger on it. It's a decent watch for a Sunday afternoon.

Highly amusing and well-made for its meager budget, this is right up there with all the best zombie thrillers of the 80s. Why is there a spiritual component mixed in with the Herbert West stuff, a sensitivity to the symbology of religion? Why the fanatical brain collection on the part of the zombies? All your questions will not be explicitly answered, but this cheesy adventure just FEELS right. It subtly establishes some rules and pretty much sticks to them, extrapolates believably from them -- so bravo!
