The Final Terror

The Final Terror

Directed by Andrew Davis

In acclaimed director Andrew Davis’ (THE FUGITIVE) first foray into genre filmmaking, a group of forest rangers on a camping trip are stalked by a psychotic killer with a very dark past. Sounds like your typical slasher, right? Wrong. Thanks to Davis’ skilled direction and cinematography, a script that defies genre expectations and the acting talents of Daryl Hannah, Adrian Zmed and Joe Pantoliano, THE FINAL TERROR ranks alongside RITUALS and JUST BEFORE DAWN as one of the best backwoods slashers ever made. You’ll cancel your next camping trip after watching...

A classic set up, predictable in most ways. Moderate gore, and irritating/annoying cast. BUT if you want a classic low budget kids-in-the-woods horror, this will probably scratch that itch

It could have been amazing. I really love the whole teenagers facing a killer and the elements while lost in the woods vibe. The raft sequence showed teamwork. And Sarge was a really interesting character, I wish the others had character development. This woulda been a cult classic if there were more kills and even just a bit more gore. The killer should have had more screen time and been more sinister. It would have been a hit then!

You know… this really had the potential to be a cult classic, or even spawn sequels. If only it wasn’t boring.
