I hope they play Chappel Roan
This movie fails as both a horror and a documentary. It’s somewhat confusing as to whether it is actually just a documentary about haunted houses, and then they tack on the ending? There seems to be a 2014 version too, so I’ll watch that to compare.
This is a weird one. It’s very nearly brilliant, but falls short both as a documentary and as a

The Houses October Built is more a documentary than an actual horror film... well, for the first 3/4 anyway. So, right up front, don't go in thinking this is a straight up horror film. If you go in expecting a full horror movie, you'll be disappointed. I actually found the first 3/4 quite interesting as the doco crew visited well-known scare houses (real attractions like Thrillvania and Blue Skeleton) and interviewed staff and visitors. The last 1/4 is the 'actual' horror story, which was alright. Overall, an interesting film, but it won't satisfy everyone.
