stunning settings, decor, outfits, soundtrack... overall ethereal, oceanic vibe to the whole movie that is quite enjoyable. love any period pieces so that scratched the itch. loved the characters as well. worth a watch!

not a bad movie but a little slow, the story got a tad weird and (vague spoilers) i wish there was actually justice served by the end instead of what happens. that being said, the music was beautiful, acting was solid and general atmosphere was nice. important note though: if someone has a seizure, dont be like the people in this movie. dont put anything in their mouth (you wont be able to without breaking their jaw anyway) and dont hold them still, just put something soft under their head (hoodie, arm, pillow, etc) and let them ride it out. sincerely, an epileptic dude

Beautiful music and setting, intriguing basis for a movie, but not the best editing/cohesive storyline and feels much longer than the run time. Better writing to flesh out the characters and streamline the story would make this a great movie rather than decent. Slight spoiler warning, but I found it very frustrating and sad that there was no real course of justice/revenge given for the audience to see in response to the injustices we see. The men continually make decisions that harm the women of the isle, and we never really get to see true retribution on either the perpetrators or the guilty sideliners. Sure, they have punishments, but I wish there was a better exploration of this, or at least a more clear acknowledgment and condemnation of their guilt.

Loved the Scottish music. Great, but a little sad too, movie.
