The Last Thing Mary Saw
Directed by Edoardo Vitaletti
Southold, New York, 1843: Young Mary, blood trickling from behind the blindfold tied around her eyes, is interrogated about the events surrounding her grandmother’s death. As the story jumps back, we witness Mary, raised in a repressively religious household, finding fleeting happiness in the arms of Eleanor, the home’s maid. Her family, who believe they are seeing, speaking, and acting on God’s behalf, view the girls’ relationship as an abomination, to be dealt with as severely as possible. The couple attempts to carry on in secret, but someone is always watching, or listening, and the wages of perceived sin threaten to become death, with the tension only heightened by the arrival of an enigmatic stranger and the revelation of greater forces at work. A SHUDDER ORIGINAL.
Winter, 1843. A young woman is under investigation following the mysterious death of her family's matriarch. Here, she'll shed new light on the ageless forces behind the tragedy.
Cast: Stefanie Scott, Isabelle Fuhrman, Judith Roberts, Rory Culkin

it was alright
Some clunkiness in some characters but a great spooky little mystery.
It was a pretty good film to be honest. More of like a 3. 8. I would recommend this film.
Strange pacing and plot choices for a concept that was pretty decent. The stranger doesn’t add anything to the story, same with the grounds keeper and the brother. If the creators had a more fleshed out story they couldve made this much more interesting with efficient character use, but they didnt! Its a decent watch if you like creepy period pieces.
I enjoyed this, great witchy vibes
