The only reviews you should trust are the ones with 1 star. And, if those folks are anything like me, the 1 is because there’s no option for 0. Reliable horror scribe Lansdale’s name is a trap (he didn’t even write this… & it shows). The camerawork & direction are so shoddy, scenes often actually lose all cohesion. The great character actors wasted on this give their best, but no one else can act. And the little brother? The writers managed the feat of a useless heel dumber & more recklessly responsible for the rest of the cast’s deaths than the daughter in Army of the Dead. Which says something. I made it to the end by a sheer act of will/ masochism. Run, do not walk, away from this trash.

I couldn’t finish it, maybe I’ll have to give it another chance later down the road. I just couldn’t get past the costume design. I understand the concept behind the costume design, why they were made to look the way they did. It just didn’t do it for me.

Oops, pressed post accidentally so heres the rest; I like Mr. Lansdale as a writer,& Mr. Healy as an actor, but their involvement could not lift this tawdry little offering. Some may say I didn't give it enough time, but unless the final half-hour was Exorcist-level shit I think two-thirds of the runtime should be adequate, & to say I missed the point makes my piss itch a little, unless this was the first 'horror' film you'd seen,& even then your expectations were EXTREMELY low,I could see no redeeming features,Pat Healy (& possibly the train-witch girl) deserved better,as did I. I love to sit back & enjoy the ride, but occasionally the ride is so bad you need to find an alternative mode of transport, & indeed destination. This applies to any genre, i am to my core a horror-hound,but do transgress now & then,I recently watched 'the Banshees of Inisherin',not a banshee in sight but an absofeckinlutely awesome & satisfying experience 😵
