I don't get all the good reviews. I've seen more exciting high school plays. Sooo slooooow . . . and pointless.

This brings the feel of folklore to life, just like “The Witch” does—only it adds a layer of quirk, almost like a Wes Anderson film. Come for the puppet, stay for the tragedy. I just hope you don’t mind disgusting chewing sounds because this just might cure you of your affinity for mouth sound ASMR. Based on the same source material as the Karloff portion of Mario Bava’s “Black Sabbath,” this is very creepy and atmospheric, and more than a little funny. (Unlike the Bava adaptation, which is creepy and atmospheric and EVEN DARKER. ) Check both out if you can!

Surreal. Gothic. Dope. Love the puppet, love the music, love the movie.

I'm in love with this movie! Don't plan on a big fright fest or anything like that but it is so well done and I smile every time I see the thumbnail 😊
