The Wailing
Directed by Na Hong-jin
In this unbelievably tense supernatural thriller, a foreigner’s mysterious appearance in a quiet, rural village causes suspicion among the locals - suspicion which quickly turns to hysteria as the townspeople begin killing each other in brutal outbursts for seemingly no reason. As the investigating officer watches his daughter fall under the same savage spell, he agrees to consult a shaman for answers - unknowingly escalating the situation into something far more dangerous.

The Wailing is an absolutely gripping film. Playing off of traditional horror imagery while not feeling stale, and also utilizing unique aspects of Korean culture and folklore, The Wailing provides a breath of fresh air for horror enthusiasts. Despite its length, the film offers the viewer the chance of going back and watching it again with its intricate story. Great for fans of atmospheric horror or slow burns.
I thought it was really good up until the ending.
It's a good movie, it's not a horror movie but it's a good movie. It's pretty long so be prepared.
