Fun and tense supernatural thriller with a heavy nod to Fargeat's "Revenge", swapping the expansive desert location for the contained environment of a troubled apartment building, a setup that would later form the foundation of Cronin's "Evil Dead Rise. " While Venus was supposedly inspired by Lovecraft's "Dreams In The Witch House. " I personally found the cosmic element of this film to be the least compelling part. Ester Expósito's performance as Lucia is utterly fantastic, in league with the best modern final girls IMO. Overall, I enjoyed this.

Perfect blend of suspense drama bleeding into the supernatural. If you liked Weapons you’ll love this!
