intriguing. kinda boring, a lot of random nonsense artsy/documentary esq shots, isn't really a horror film other than the whole idea of i guess being in the characters shoes as well as the first scene, i mean, id shit myself if that were happening too. other than some neat cultural footage and themes this isn't much of an excitment, good on em for the nudity i guess especially given the culture involved, sadly i can't let myself rate this any higher than 2 skulls

It's certainly a well made film with plenty of beautiful shots of the Australian outback and its wildlife, but it never quite quite connected for him. Definitely not a film I expected to find on Shudder.

Walkabout is definitely not a horror film, more of a coming of age film with outback iconography. The director Nicolas Roeg though, would later direct the 1973 film Don't Look Now starring Donald Sutherland which is very much a horror with excellent cinematography.
