Solid haunted house flick but not anything special. I did like the exploration of the American obsession with guns.
good show
awful movie don't waste your time. yeah
Just terribly boring. That's it. Not worth watching at all. Rather I'd like to talk about the subject of the movie, which is the supposed hauting of this Winchester House... If you read up on it, this entire "haunting" was invented by the people who bought the house and made it a tourist attraction called the Winchester Mystery Mansion. Sarah Winchester did apparently wear a funeral dress for the rest of her life, but other than that she did not believe in ghosts and the weird architecture was caused by the shenanigans that took place in the building of the house, her family actually was really against all the rumours spread by the Mystery Mansion people because they felt like it tarnished her legacy you can read up all of it on wikipedia and other sources. There is literally 0 truth to any of the stuff said about the history of the place in this movie, just making it look like some sort of advertising for the tourist attraction. Well it was pretty bad because it did not make me want to go there!
It’s a decent watch and even scared me a couple of times. I enjoyed the female lead‘s acting but the movie can sometimes get a bit tedious. Lots of potential, wish they had explored some stuff they established in the first half more towards the end to tie everything together. Can’t complain too much, would’ve given it 4 skulls if I didn’t have higher expectations based on the reputation of the house, thought the movie would be scarier.
